Learning Social Skills Group- A 8-week group for children ages 7-8 and 9-10 Children will learn to: develop and maintain friendships, learn how to have social conversations, practice manners in social situations, interact socially with other children.
DRUG AND ALCOHOL PREVENTION EDUCATION PROGRAM
The program will focus on the mental, emotional, and
physical impact of alcohol and drug use on the individual, as well as, the
destructive effects on the family and society. Particular attention will be
given to alcohol, cocaine, opiates, sedatives and marijuana. The program will be
facilitated by a Licensed/ Certified Chemical Dependency Counselor.
Participants will receive a certificate of completion after completing the five
(5) session cycle.
Intensive Group - A 6 week group for Adults 18 years of age and older. The focus of the group is skill building for clients who have Chronic Mood Disorders and Borderline Personality Disorders. The program will use a cognitive behavioral skills model. The clients will learn CBT skills, problem solving skills, relaxation skills, assertiveness, emotion regulation skills, and if requested hypnotherapy to address hidden core beliefs. The group will meet twice a week.
Parent Psycho-education Group- A 4 week group for parents of children and adolescents who are suffering from Major Depression. The group’s focus will be threefold: 1) Psycho-education regarding current assessment and treatment of depression. 2) Cognitive-behavioral techniques to help with parenting a depressed family member 3) Developmental issues impacted by depression. The goals of the group will be to improve family communication and problem solving. Helping families to focus on solutions and not problems. Tom Gigliotti MA, LISW a certified cognitive therapist will be the leader of this group.
Group psychotherapy for adult men in recovery.- Group psychotherapy for 12 step recovery. This group is designed for recovering chemical dependency adults. All group members have to be involved in AA, NA, CA and have a sponsor in those programs. The group is designed to teach principles of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to Recovering adults who often struggle with “stinking thinking,” in their interpersonal relationships. The group is both didactic and interactive and will run for 12 consecutive sessions. The group members will be able to identify core distorted beliefs and have the skills for managing these distortions which will aid them in the recovering process.
